
Psychometrist
The Psychometrist performs a variety of clinical, administrative, and support duties under the direction of a licensed psychologist. This position entails interaction with patients/families and the administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of psychological and neurobehavioral disorders. The Testing Technician plays a crucial role in the evaluation process by assisting our psychologists in the administration and scoring of tests, as well as assisting with report writing, maintaining patient records, and monitoring patients progress through the evaluation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of licensed staff, administers and scores standardized tests of cognitive function including measures of attention, memory, language, spatial/constructional ability, executive function, motor function, mood, and personality. Testing occurs as a component of the evaluation of patients with known or suspected neurological/psychiatric illness/disease particularly ADHD and other syndromes affecting brain and behavior as well as providing diagnostic clarification.
Administers and scores all tests according to standardized methods and protocols. Produces and submits summary data in an accurate and timely manner. Enters scores and other data in databases as necessary.
Establishes rapport with patients to ensure appropriate and comfortable conditions for conducting neuropsychological and psychological tests. Manages patient behavior and controls testing environment to ensure optimal assessment validity and patient performance.
Makes observations of the patient’s behavior and affect during the evaluation and records these observations in a concise, systematic manner.
Coordinates testing schedule for patients and family members/caregivers. Schedules follow-up testing appointments when necessary and takes appropriate steps to ensure maximal patient follow-through. Works closely with the lead psychologist and administrative support staff to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure optimal communication between all involved parties.
Maintains test equipment, testing rooms and record forms in working condition and good supply. Performs inventory and orders new supplies/equipment/forms as necessary. Notifies the lead psychologist when equipment is in need of repair/replacement.
Works closely with the practice administrative support staff to ensure authorizations are on file to ensure proper approval and reimbursement of clinical testing services.

Proof reading neuro/psychological reports.
Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possesses well developed interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to empathize with and encourage maximal effort from a diverse patient population.
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with professionaland administrative staff within the group and thelargerorganization.
Possesses excellent observational skills and the ability to record and convey those observations systematically and reliably through writing.
Demonstrable skills in time management, organization, attention to detail, and an ability to work independently.
Strong computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and the capacity to learn and master a variety of neuropsychological and psychological assessment administration and scoring, and other statistical programs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, professional demeanor and attitude.
Extremely detailed oriented, methodical, focused and diligent.
Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred.

Very flexible, can set schedule according to when candidate is able to travel to St. Joseph.
Job Types
Part-timeRate: $25-40 an hour depending of level of experience and ability to manage duties independently. Travel stipend for meals and mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Experience
Psychological testing: 2 years.
