Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Process Group
This group serves as a supportive and safe community based therapeutic space for individuals
18+ in MI who identify as BIPOC. This group allows the opportunity to understand mental
health, identity, and self-expression through a cultural lens through similar voices. This group
allows BIPOC the freedom to share their experiences, receive support in community, and expand
on useful coping skills and resources to build knowledge on your approach to mental health. The
process group will focus on topics like:
• Stigmas in family systems
• Identity and representation
• Expectations and dismantling microaggressions/stereotyping
• Biosocial implications of growing up in predominately white/privileged oriented systems
What to expect?
• Weekly, supportive 60 min sessions
• Same group of BIPOC for a 3-month duration
• Collaboration of check ins and group processing
• Intentional time towards building connection and understanding
• Shedding light on Mental Health in BIPOC communities
• Utilizing resources and receiving support
• Expansion of identity and self-expression
Location: online, available for PPS patients in MI
Time: Wednesdays 6 pm EST, weekly, 1 hour
Cost: Accepting insurance, discounts can apply
