Psychiatric and Psychological Specialties (PPS) is a group private practice of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and professional counselors who work within an integrated mental health model. PPS has physical offices in Southwestern Michigan and Chicago, Illinois but we are primarily a Telehealth practice.

The mission of PPS is to promote behavioral health across the lifespan through the provision of psychotherapy, assessment and medication management services by an excellent interdisciplinary team. We work in collaboration to foster patient wellness and satisfaction in a warm, therapeutic, and respectful manner.

Psychiatric and Psychological Specialties is seeking a passionate, driven Mid-Level Practitioner to join its rapidly growing interdisciplinary clinical team caring for the mental health needs of adults via a virtual Telehealth platform. Ideal candidates will be committed to building and maintaining their practice with the support of a multidisciplinary team of peers and show commitment to continual improvement of clinical skills. We are a fully remote practice and provide services to patients in Michigan and Illinois.

INTERDISCIPLINARY TREATMENT

  • We welcome clinicians from all disciplines across mental health: psychiatry, psychology, social work, counseling, physician’s assistants, nurses, etc.

  • Our psychiatrists believe in therapy and our therapists believe in medications: we do not see them as mutually exclusive.

  • We work to integrate ancillary wellness services to our treatment plans such as nutrition coaching and personal training/movement.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and provide care consistent with accepted professional standards, including evaluations, treatment, referrals, and related documentation.

  • 100%Remote position

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management and care coordination.

  • Attend case consultations and collaborate with other providers within the clinic.

  • Implement medication treatment plans as established by lead psychiatrist in a virtual clinic (i.e. telehealth) setting.

  • Comfort and experience treating patients with emotion dysregulation, suicidal ideation, substance use, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and substance use disorders.

  • Provide ancillary support to psychiatric team as needed.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

  • Utilize between-session messaging to support patients and communicate with the treatment team through EMR in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Engage and collaborate in treatment team meetings, supervision, and department meetings.

  • Willing to assist in training experiences of rotating students (PAs, NPs, medical students, medical residents, etc.)

  • Intensive training with a focus on knowledge and skill development.

  • Initial shadowing of senior providers, medical director, or collaborating psychiatrist Graded transition to independent practice with continuous close support.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience managing psychiatric patients, treatments and medication.

  • Capable of functioning independently to provide psychiatric care in an outpatient Telehealth setting.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

  • Has no pending actions by the board in any state.

  • Comfortable in the use of technology.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA policies and best practices.

  • The ability to work within a larger clinical team and under the direction of lead psychiatrist.

  • Maintains a positive attitude.

  • Well-organized with a strong attention to detail.

  • Empathetic to client needs and concerns.

Education & Experience

  • Active license in the state of Michigan.

  • DEA license required.

  • You must have experience prescribing and/or recommending psychotropic medications in a Psychiatric Setting.

  • Nurse-PMHNP or PA-C with Psychiatric CAQ

Compensation

  • Part-Time and Full-Time options.

Part-Time

Competitive hourly rate between $60-100 based on licensure and experience.

Full-time

$125,000 - $140,000 a year with benefits listed below:

  • 15 accrued PTO days, plus 5 wellness days.

  • 401k with 3% Employer matching.

  • Annual professional development funds of $3000.00 which can be used for CME, professional membership, conferences, etc.

  • Up to $5000.00 annually toward student loan debt.

  • Malpractice insurance and licensure renewal costs covered.

  • High-quality webcam, microphone and monitor provided.

  • There is no call requirement, but vacation coverage for physician will be required.

  • Flexible schedule, preference for candidates who can provide evening and weekend availability.

  • In-depth onboarding and clinical orientation with clinical director and lead psychiatrist.

  • Ongoing weekly supervision and oversight by lead psychiatrist.
