Dr. Shervin Tehrani-Rad is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and psychotherapist at Psychiatric & Psychological Specialties. Dr. Shervin’s main interests lie with adult neuropsychological assessment related to both neurological and psychiatric etiologies. He is also keen on acquired brain injury and sports-related concussion. His interest in and passion for assessment led him to focus on attaining a significant amount of training in this area – with formal coursework, multiple externship training positions throughout California, an APA-accredited internship in Clinical Neuropsychology at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, along with a two-year Clinical Neuropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program.
Dr. Shervin obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Sciences from the University of California Irvine (2007), as well as a Master’s Degree in Public Health, graduating with full honors (2009). In addition, he completed an APA-accredited Doctorate in Clinical Psychology program with an outstanding academic standing from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA (2017). Throughout his career, Dr. Shervin has received numerous awards and certificates from esteemed institutions for his academic achievements and leadership abilities. Over the past few years he served as a volunteer at UCLA Hospital and was the chosen recipient of the only award granted that term, the Outstanding Volunteer Award. He has also volunteered at elementary schools – guiding, serving, and being a positive role-model for children, as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers – helping individuals learn to cope with their addictions. In addition to his continual volunteer experiences, he has successfully trained in a broad range of settings including State Governmental Agencies, Level I Trauma Hospital Systems, community mental health centers, homeless shelters, drug/alcohol programs, and private practices.
Aside from neuropsychological assessment, Dr. Shervin is passionate about being of service, working with socially and culturally diverse populations, treating personality disorders and severe psychopathology, ADHD/conduct/oppositionality/antisocial difficulties, integrated health/somatization, anxiety spectrum and panic disorders, and multidisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals. His clinical research has revolved around difficulties related to emotional regulation, CBT/ACT/DBT, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Dr. Shervin is proficient in providing services in English and Farsi.
