Katie Erickson, LLMSW

Katie Erickson grew up in Metro-Detroit, where she accumulated a passion for helping and understanding others through empathetic listening. This passion inspired her to get her undergraduate degree (BSW) from Hope College in Social Work and to get her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work.

Katie is interested in several therapeutic theories and interventions, such as attachment theory, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal practice, and person-centered and strength-based therapy approaches. Katie has experience working with individuals who have struggled with anxiety, depression, personality, and behavioral difficulty due to past trauma: as well as struggles with self-esteem, sense of self, and life transitions.

Every person has a unique story with individual needs. Katie’s goal is to create a safe environment. One where you feel accepted and free to work on achieving your individualized goals, reduce your emotional stress, and expanding your self-knowledge and breaking unhealthy patterns through a psychodynamic approach.

“Let go of who you think you’re supposed to be; embrace who you are.”
