Elva Whaley

Elva Whaley is an Advanced Psychotherapy Fellow here at Psychiatric & Psychological Specialties. Elva is a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist who received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. During her graduate studies, she assisted with research related to child sexual abuse. She also has previous experience working in community mental health. In addition to a master’s degree, Elva holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ferris State University.

Elva was born and raised in Berrien County. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, she worked as an academic advisor at Southwestern Michigan College. She is grateful for the opportunity to assist individuals and families in the community. Elva enjoys working from a variety of theoretical orientations, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and interpersonal therapies.
