Dr. Raghu Ram
Veeramasuneni, MD
(1947-2025)
Honoring a Life Devoted to Healing
Dr. Raghu Ram Veeramasuneni founded the practice in 1991 and devoted his career to the mental health of patients and families across Southwest Michigan. Over decades of community mental health, hospital psychiatry and private practice, he cared for generations of patients, and the way he practiced became the foundation of Psychiatric and Psychological Specialties. We remember him with deep gratitude.

Patients remember Dr. Raghu for making difficult ideas easy to grasp. His simple, often humorous metaphors explained complex concepts, eased anxiety and built trust from the first visit.
He believed meaningful healing takes time, curiosity and a willingness to understand each person in the context of their relationships, culture and history. Colleagues and patients remember his steady presence, his humility and the genuine interest he took in every person he cared for.
His Legacy Lives On
The values he practiced still guide our care
His presence is still felt at Psychiatric and Psychological Specialties every day: in the compassion, integrity and thoughtful clinical engagement he brought to each patient, and in the steady, humane care our clinicians continue to offer. We are grateful for his life and his work, and we carry his legacy forward.
